A day at the races....
....Actually, it was a night at the races. The Project Management

....Whilst bored on Sunday, I gave Ed a buzz and we met up for

Tim Hill....
....is a superb illustrator and designer. I have in
the ranks a set of Russian dolls that he painted for
me. They sit on my windowsill and make me smile every
time I open the blind. Look here

Birthday Ed....
....turned 24 yesterday. To celebrate we went for fish & chips
at the Golden Hind, followed by cheap drinks and dirty dances
at Candybox. Drunkeness ensued.

Dr. Strangelove....
....outdoor film screening at Somerset House. I'd not
seen this before and really enjoyed it, but the illumination
of the London skyline with an electrical storm was battling
for my attention! Amazingly, the rain held of throughout.

Rad Richie....
....Richard Ardagh, designer extraordinaire has been
busy lately. He's designed a map for the Tate Modern's
Street Art exhibition, featured recently in Time Out
magazine (31st July–6th August) and also, August sees
the launch of 'My Cup of Tea', a new tea brand which has
a surprising amount of elephants in the branding and
packaging, probably due to his involvement! Lastly, his
Elephant Man poster has been selected as a finalist to
appear in the Chicago International Poster Biennial. Good

Walk the line....
....That's better. A great film, good sound and still good sweets.
Tonight Doug, Liam and I went to see Man On Wire, a film
of archive footage and documentary style clips following Frenchman
Philippe Petit and his wire walking feats of genius. It culminated in
'le coup' - walking between the Twin Towers in New York. It was a
breathtaking 90 minutes in the very sense of the word, Petit both
uplifting and inspirational with his enthusiasm and single minded
nature. It seemed, however to end on a rather sad note - once he
fulfilled his dream, it was like he became empty and disillusioned,
removing himself from the friends, colleagues and lovers that had
helped him achieve the ultimate feat.

....TBC have a Dark Knight
....On Sunday evening TBC gathered for a much needed night
of food, drink and cinema. We began with pizza, then cocktails
at Frevd, finishing with Batman: The Dark Knight at the cinema.
It was a great evening, but I was a little diappointed with the
film. Too long, terrible audio in the cinema, (boycott Odeon
Tottenham Court Road!), Christian Bale's voice when Batman
bordering on ridiculous, (& inaudible). On the plus side, there
was plenty of action, plenty of sweets to eat and....oh, Heath
Ledger. He was good. Very good, but simply playing a villain in a
Comic Book movie. For me, it was just a Batman film. It was good,
but certainly not worth the ridiculous title of 'Best film ever made'
which voters on the IMDB website gave it.

The Weekend....
....JAWS
On Saturday I had further surgery on my mouth.
What can only be described as screw caps were fitted
to the existing the titanium poles that are implanted
in to my gum and jaw. It gives me the rather classy
look of Jaws from the Bond film! Unfortunately this
will only last a six weeks before i finally get my
permanent teeth.

Saturday night. We were taking advantage of the printing
facilities and of course the 24hr building. What should
have been a half hour job saw us leaving at 4am! Still,
the roads were quiet for our cycle home.

where 'Zo modelled the latest in contemporary oats sold
at Tesco. Foska oats from Jamica seem to use a hand painted
Mighty White kid to advertise their breakfast.......Hmmm.
We didn't eat it!
We then walked round the corner to see the Published & The Damned fair at Rochelle School. Lorenzo was in his element,
buying limited edition self published fanzines and the like.
I merely took photos and pretended to look cultural!

Summer Party....
....AMV put on a summer party for their empoloyees. Carnival
theme, steel drums, traditional dancers were all great. The sterile,
generic South London bar wasn't. Still, free food and drink meant I
easily overcame that hurdle and had a great night amongst friends
and my African take on the theme seemed to go down well!
